WE EACH HAVE AN OCEAN INSIDE.
The sand squeaked beneath her feet as she twisted and turned. The drift wood moved under her hands as she tied them together with the weathered rope and bouys. Giving herself over to allowed possibilities.
Just like when she was a kid. Those joyous endless summers.
Just like it is for her kids now. Endlessness. The sea, the sky, the future.
Each year she left a message to the future. One the future would alter and ultimately discard. This year’s was spectacular. It had to be. Her tide was turning, and a nudie run in moonlight awaited her.
