This tale will soon be recorded. In the meantime let me read some other Luxville Tales to you at Madame Yum’s Insta TV @madameyum
Thanks Jacqueline for posting this faded glory themed pic to #LuxvilleTales. Here is your story.
Six by Six.
The building breathed in as she pushed opened the door with two hands, wrenching her forward. Her heavy bag rose from her shoulder and swung under her, pulling her down. She kicked helplessly against the suitcase at her feet. Landing arms outstretched and legs akimbo over her suitcase, her chin skidded on the cool tiles.
The building breathed out as she slowly pulled her body to the side and felt her chin. Sore. Inching her feet along she twisted to sit cross-legged. She needed a moment. Her head thumping, she looked over the scene. Her suitcase had fallen back out into the street. The bag she landed on had delivered her purse into the hallway. She guessed the expanding damp patch on her bag meant she had lost her perfume, but as the smell spread out like fog, she realised she would never be without it.
She sighed deeply to stretch for her purse, flicking the edge with her fingernail to bring it closer. The purse tipped up spilling coins musically across the tiles in front of her. They were tiles made of smaller tiles. Six by six to a square, black then white with a black border that led her eyes to the staircase.
Entranced by the building she failed to see someone step into the doorway, her reverie broken by a coin dropping into her lap.
